Goals - Week 31:
- Give away what I don't need
- Say thanks for all the support I've been given
- Encourage all of you to upcycle and relove!
I'm 31 weeks into my challenge! I'm celebrating this milestone by giving away lovely books I don't need. Because I now have multiple copies of them.
I recently entered this T-Shirt tutorial into an Instructables contest and was a runner up. That's how I have the copy of Generation T to give you. "Refashioned Bags" is a book I've been given as a gift a couple of times. Because my friends know me :) But I don't need more than one copy, so now I will send them on to one of you!
First, a bit about each one:
Generation T : Ask not what your T-shirt can do for you; ask what you can do for your T-shirt. And then Do-It-Yourself!
This inspirational guide with DIY attitude has everything you need to know about the world’s great T-shirt: how to cut it, sew it, deconstruct it, reconstruct it, and best of all, transform it. Features more than 100 projects (plus 200 variations) for customized tees, tank tops, tube tops, T-skirts—even handbags, a patchwork blanket, iPod cozies, leg warmers, and more.
Not a DIY expert? Not to worry. More than one third of the projects are no sew, meaning anyone who can wield a pair of scissors can put a personal stamp on her wardrobe. But the sewing basics are here too: backstitch and whipstitch, gather and ruche, appliqué and drawstrings.
Refashioned Bags by Faith and Justina Blakeney
Whether your closet is already an amalgam of hand-made clothing and remastered mash-ups or you're diving into DIY for the very first time, bags are one of the easiest accessories to make over and require little more than a needle, thread, and everyday items you can find in the closet, garage, attic, or flea market.
In Refashioned Bags, you'll learn how repurpose an old wool sweater, a guy's neckties, extra shower curtains, a man's suit jacket, a quilt, an umbrella, and even a bath mat!
I can vouch for these books! You'll love them. So here's how to get them:
